We
do not write music to communicate that which can be communicated.
We do not write music to describe that which can be described.
The world around us is too cynical for hearts and flowers and
pretty little words. It is too hardened to wars and hatred and
has been told for too long that it is racist, materialistic, and
worse. The people have already stopped listening. We have to find
new ways to get our point across.
There is in our world, however, new things, new metaphors, new
forces shaping our understanding that those who came before us
could only dream of and could not utter without being thought
ridiculous. This is that for which we strive.
By
not drawing an exact picture for our listeners, we want them to
rediscover how to fill in their own blanks.
When the listener or the audience fills things in for themselves,
the have become engaged in our work, put themselves into it, and
THEN and only then, have we truly communicated with them.

Isidore
Manifesto -
We
declare as follows to the entire braying musical,
literary, dramatic, philosophical and even theological body
of contemporary criticism:
1. We have nothing to do with the music industry; But we
are quite capable, when necessary, of making use of it like
anyone else.
2. Isidore is not a new means or expression, or an easier
one, nor even a
metaphysic of poetry. It is a means of total liberation
of the mind and of all that resembles it.
3. We are determined to make a Sonic Revolution.
4. We make no claim to change the traditions of music, but
we intend to show the fragility of sound, and on what shifting
foundations, what caverns we have built our trembling houses.
5. We hurl this formal warning to Musical Society; Beware
of your deviations and faux-pas, we shall not miss a single
one.
6. At each turn of its thought, you will find us waiting.
7. We are specialists. There is no means of action which
we are not capable, when necessary, of employing.
8. We say in particular to the Western world: Isidore
exists. And what is this new feel that is fastened to us?
Isidore is not a poetic form. It is a cry of the mind turning
back on itself, and it is determined to break apart its
fetters, even if it must be by hammers of harmony.
